Approach
Integrative Therapy for Individuals and Couples
I’m Francesca Sciandra, an integrative therapist and counsellor. My work focuses on sustained psychological and relational inquiry, particularly where patterns persist despite insight, effort, or previous therapy.
Therapy here is a structured, reflective process that supports engagement with emotional and relational patterns over time. It’s not oriented toward quick relief or surface-level change.
This work is suited to people who are willing to explore to what is difficult, repetitive, or unresolved, and to examine how these patterns shape their relationships, inner life, and sense of self.
I work with individuals and couples through online therapy, and offer in-person couples intensives in the UK.
Areas of Focus
My therapeutic work frequently involves:
Relational difficulties and recurring interpersonal patterns
Attachment dynamics, including anxious, avoidant, and disorganised patterns
Developmental and childhood trauma, including experiences of neglect and abuse
Intimacy and sexual concerns, including sexual shame
Anxiety, stress, and emotional reactivity
Emotional regulation, including anger and jealousy
Depression, low mood, and loss of energy
Self-esteem, identity, and persistent self-criticism
Sleep-related difficulties, including insomnia, nightmares, and anxiety around sleep
Integration of psychedelic experiences and non-ordinary states of consciousness
Individual therapy is available online.
Couples Therapy
Couples work addresses patterns that erode emotional safety and connection over time, including:
Recurring conflict and communication breakdowns
Emotional distance and attachment-based disconnection
Intense relational emotions such as anger, jealousy, fear, loneliness, or shutdown
Infidelity, betrayal, and attachment injuries
Rebuilding emotional intimacy and relational reliability
Couples therapy is available online, and couples therapy intensives are available in person in the UK.
How Therapy is Structured
Sessions typically take place weekly at a consistent day and time, which supports continuity and depth. Individual sessions and couples sessions are held online via Zoom. Couples intensives are offered in person.
I most often work on a medium- to long-term basis. Short-term work can be useful during periods of difficulty, while longer-term therapy allows for deeper exploration of enduring emotional and relational patterns.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is integrative, drawing primarily from psychodynamic therapy, person-centred therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), parts-based approaches, hypnotherapy, and inner child work.
Hypnotherapy is used within an integrative framework to access material that may not be readily available through conscious reflection alone. It is not a separate or stand-alone intervention, but part of a broader therapeutic process.
Beginning Therapy
Initial consultations are 20 minutes and explore whether the work is an appropriate fit. Session fees and availability are outlined on the fees page.
