Integrative Therapy and Couples Therapy
Therapy for individuals and couples addressing patterns that persist despite attempts at change.
Francesca Sciandra
Integrative Therapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
Therapy here is structured, ongoing work with relational patterns, attachment dynamics, and psychological material that shapes current experience.
People often seek therapy when patterns have become visible but remain unchanged, when relationships repeat familiar difficulties, or when cycles continue despite awareness and good intentions.
The work examines what maintains these patterns. It requires consistency, ongoing engagement, and a willingness to work through challenging or unresolved issues over time.
I work with individuals and couples online, and offer in-person couples therapy intensives in the UK.
Individual Therapy
Therapy addresses relational difficulties, attachment-based patterns, developmental experience, emotional responses, anxiety, and psychedelic integration.
Common concerns include:
Relational difficulties and recurring interpersonal patterns
Attachment dynamics, including anxious, avoidant, and disorganised attachment — these are sometimes called ‘commitment issues’ or ‘abandonment issues’
Developmental and childhood trauma, including experiences of neglect and abuse
Intimacy and sexual concerns, including sexual shame
Anxiety, stress, and emotional reactivity
Issues with emotional regulation, including anger and jealousy
Depression, low mood, and loss of energy
Low self-confidence, self-esteem issues, and persistent self-criticism
Sleep-related difficulties, including insomnia, nightmares, and anxiety around sleep
Integrating psychedelic experiences and non-ordinary states of consciousness
These concerns are often interconnected and explored within the context of broader psychological and relational life.

Couples Therapy
Couples therapy addresses patterns that create recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, or attachment-based difficulty.
Work with couples often includes:
Recurring conflict and communication breakdowns
Infidelity, betrayal, and attachment injuries
Emotional distance and attachment-based disconnection
Intense relational emotions such as anger, jealousy, fear, loneliness, or shutdown
For couples requiring focused attention to relational difficulty, 2-day therapy intensives are available in person in Bristol and select UK locations.

How Therapy Works
Individual therapy and couples therapy sessions are held weekly via Zoom. Individual sessions are 50 or 80 minutes; couples sessions are 80 minutes.
Couples therapy intensives are offered in person in Bristol and select UK locations.
I most often work with clients on a medium- to long-term basis, allowing space for patterns to emerge, be understood, and gradually reorganised. Short-term therapy may be appropriate in specific circumstances where the focus is clearly defined.
